Mounted on a brass panel, these use bi-wiring gold plated terminals and gold plated shorting links to ensure the highest quality and reliability.

TECHNICAL APPRECIATION: Its clean and classic appearance, its feeling of weight and substance, and of course its magnificent sound are the things that will make you want the Encore Loudspeaker System in your home. However, an appreciation of the depth of the Encore's technical excellence will give you a strong sense of its inherent worth.

PORT DESIGN: The large port in the rear of the enclosure, for instance, has made a compact, wide bandwidth and very dynamic loudspeaker system possible. Sonique's engineers have carefully calculated the port design to provide an extended and controlled low frequency response as well as an attractive visual feature of the cabinet. This coming together of form and function represents Sonique engineering at its highest levels.

THE BAFFLE: The attractively designed grille features acoustically transparent grille cloth and when this grille is removed it reveals a very clean vertical profile baffle. At the same time it achieves very accurate time alignment of the individual drivers.

DRIVER POSITIONING:The drivers themselves are positioned vertically in a symmetrical fashion around the tweeter. This achieves the desired point source simulation and facilitates the smooth and symmetrical vertical and horizontal dispersion patterns required of an accurate loudspeaker. The drivers exhibit very predictable and linear performance characteristics, even at very high sound pressure levels. And Sonique's engineers have fixed them into the baffle using high tensile steel bolts that pass through the 75mm thick baffle into captive nuts. This technique creates one vibration-free assembly.

CROSS-OVER DESIGN: In the integration of the drivers, Sonique has used First Order Cross-over design techniques. High power ceramic resistors, high voltage polypropylene capacitors and air cored inductors are employed. The Cross-over is point-to-point hard wired, and is sealed from the rest of the cabinet in its own isolated cavity. When this type of cross-over is teamed with the Encore's driver topology, it allows the system to exhibit very accurate frequency, phase and time characteristics at a realistic listening distance. This means that the speakers will reproduce a musical signal at the listener's ears with astonishing accuracy.

INTERNAL DAMPING: Sonique has even used specially designed foam for internal enclosure damping, along with carefully positioned bracing to eliminate cabinet vibration and resonances.

ADJUSTABLE SPIKES: Four adjustable spikes are positioned under each speaker to provide mechanical stability and to isolate the system from the room environment as much as possible.

SYSTEM: 3 way with 5 drivers in a Time Aligned symmetrical configuration teamed with a crossover utilizing First Order design techniques for coherant sound reproduction. Enclosure is of a Bass Reflex design with a large linear port venting to the rear.
 
Finishes:
The Encore and Encore SE are finished in Atlantic Jarrah timber as standard. Although Sonique will quote on any finish, including Piano gloss. We have created cabinets to match antique furniture, specific paint colours and even gold!
